Stationery Etiquette: Monogrammed Notes

There are four types of stationery and they are intended for different situations. The types include monogram note, informal note, correspondence card, and the Mr. and Mrs. note. The intention of the monogrammed note is for one person's initials or name to be printed or engraved on the front because the message is written and signed by one person. The monogram reads first initial, last initial, middle or maiden initial. A proper social name may be printed on the card instead of the initials. Ladies and gentlemen use monogrammed notes for writing formal thank you notes, extending formal invitations to a dinner party, etc., sending short messages to friends and family, and R.s.v.p. to a formal invitation.
